Empowering Students to Stay in School and Achieve in Life

Our Mission

Communities in Schools of Greater Wichita Falls Area surrounds students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

We work hand-in-hand with students, parents, educators, and school and district leaders to help our students overcome obstacles. Our name says it all – by bringing community resources into schools, we ensure that all students, regardless of their identity, ability, zip code, or socioeconomic background, have what they need to succeed in school, the workforce, and life.

The Five CIS Basics

A personal one-on-one relationship with a caring adult.

A healthy start and a healthy future.

A safe place to learn and grow.

A marketable skill to use upon graduation.

A chance to give back to peers and community.

Our Model

Communities In Schools of Greater Wichita Falls Area is proven to help students reach their full potential. As the largest practitioner of integrated student supports (ISS), our evidence-based model connects students to caring adults and community resources to transform how they see and experience the world around them.  We surround them with a network of trust they can turn to no matter where they are in their journey.

Our CIS Site Coordinators empower students to confront and overcome personal challenges and structural barriers – things that happen outside the classroom – so they can take charge of the future they want for themselves, their communities, and each other. Student success and achievement in life are our core goals. The more students succeed, the stronger our communities become.

Commitment to Our Service Delivery

Our mission calls on us to embrace the rich backgrounds, experiences, talents, cultures and contributions that our students, families and staff bring to the work of transforming schools and communities. Our differences are a vital strength and an integral part of who we are as an organization.

Our relational approach drives us to ensure a sense of safety and belonging for all. We cultivate a flourishing professional community where staff of every background and experience can thrive; where we treat each other with caring, dignity, and respect for differences, and; where all members are valued, heard, and respected.

We strive to operate with a sense of urgency and accountability grounded in compassionate leadership to build a culture that inspires constant learning and continuous improvement.
