Proven Measurable Outcomes

Student outcomes should not be determined by factors outside a student’s control. Every student deserves a fair shot at success, regardless of family income, neighborhood, or circumstance. When students succeed, communities grow stronger.

When we value every student, meet them where they are, and give them what they need to thrive, we see stronger achievement, more graduates, a stronger workforce, and healthier communities.

These results show that proven methods and measurable outcomes can unite communities around student success.

Economic Mobility

Educational success and economic mobility are deeply connected. Communities In Schools helps students build the foundation for long-term success in school, work, and beyond. Research highlighted in the Harvard–Cornell and EdRedesign study (2026) demonstrates that the Communities In Schools integrated student supports model creates measurable academic and long-term economic outcomes for students.

The study evaluated longitudinal data from Communities In Schools and combined CIS data with K-12 education records, college enrollment data, and IRS tax return information to better understand the long-term impact of integrated student supports on economic mobility.

The research found that CIS improves short-term student outcomes such as attendance, test scores, and school engagement, while also contributing to stronger long-term outcomes including graduation, post-secondary enrollment, and increased earnings in adulthood.
