Help Kids in Our Community Build Better Lives

Every Child Deserves to Feel Clean, Confident, and Cared For

Time and time again, we hear from students, teachers, and families that a lack of personal hygiene and access to clean clothing are significant challenges for many children in our schools. When basic needs go unmet, it can cause students to feel isolated, withdrawn, and unable to engage in their learning. Without essentials like food, hygiene items, or clean clothes, children struggle to thrive, not just academically, but emotionally and socially.

Unfortunately, purchasing hygiene products can place a burden on families already making tough choices between essentials such as food, rent, or transportation. That’s why Communities In Schools of Greater Wichita Falls Area is continuing our annual basic needs drive year-round, ensuring that students across all campuses receive the support they need.

The Annual Pack the Backpack Drive provides free basic needs and hygiene supplies—like gently used clothes, shoes, soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, and more—to thousands of underserved students and families throughout the school year.

Together, we can restore dignity, build confidence, and remove barriers to learning—one backpack at a time.

Here are some ways you can help create a community of support

  • Tutor a Student in Reading or Math

  • Become a Mentor to a Student

  • Provide Internship Opportunities to Expose Students to Career Options

  • Donate Gift Certificates, Tickets, Movie Passes as Incentives for Students

Communities In Schools offers an individualized approach to help children overcome roadblocks – opening doors that would otherwise be un-achievable or unimaginable.
