CHC – Behavioral Health Counseling
Community Healthcare Center’s Behavioral Health Counselors can see children through seniors. Our Counselors evaluate the needs of the patient to assist them in making healthy behavioral choices in their life. When necessary, the Counselors share the evaluation information and treatment plan with the patient’s Primary Care Provider. The Counselors will utilize community resources and may provide or assist their patients, as needed, with appropriate referral options.
Counseling at Community Healthcare Center is focused on intervention counseling, which consists of brief 20 to 30-minute counseling sessions. Behavioral Health Counseling at Community Healthcare Center is not traditional one-hour counseling sessions. These brief sessions are specifically designed to treat the issue that the patient is currently struggling with, and if more traditional counseling is necessary, the counselors will refer them to community resources that are available for the level of counseling that is needed. Our Behavioral Health Counselors will be able to help with, but not limited to:
• Mental health concerns, such as depression, anxiety, etc.
• Weight management and education
• Managing and living with a chronic illness
• Behavioral issues in children, including ADHD
• Smoking cessation
• Alcohol/drug abuse
