Utilities/Rent
Interfaith Outreach Services provides appropriate temporary assistance to individuals and families of Archer and Wichita Counties who are threatened with homelessness, loss of utilities, food insecurity, or other temporary financial emergencies in an atmosphere of compassion and respect.
Assistance is provided to help with rent, utility bills, deposits, food, prescriptions, and other basic needs. Long-term assistance may be provided for prescription medications, and interpreting and translating services are available.
RPMC’s Energy Assistance Program focuses on meeting the home energy needs of low-income individuals and families through utility payment assistance and education on controlling energy costs.
Tenant-Based Rental Assistance Program
The Tenant-Based Rental Assistance Program for Low Income Households and Disabled Households (TBRA) is designed to assist individuals in becoming self-sufficient by assisting with security and utility deposits and rental subsidies for up to 24 months in Archer, Baylor, Clay, Cottle, Foard, Hardeman, Jack, Montague, Shackelford, Stephens, Taylor (excluding the City of Abilene), Wilbarger, Wichita (excluding the City of Wichita Falls) and Young counties.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for the TBRA Program, applicants must be participating in the CSBG Case Management Program with RPMC. The Case Management Program is based on income eligibility and is designed to assist clients desiring to become self-sufficient. RPMC staff assists clients in becoming self-sufficient by establishing short and long term goals as well as locate resources to maintain or gain stable housing.

The goals of the Wichita Falls Housing Authority are to expand the supply and improve the quality and living environment of assisted housing. Promote self-sufficiency and asset development of assisted households and ensure an equal opportunity and affirmatively further fair housing.
The City of Wichita Falls Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly Section 8) has programs for low-income households to help them pay their rent. A portion of the rent is paid directly to the landlord on behalf of the families.
